Richard & Michelle – The Wedding – Tralee, Orangeville

Michelle and Richard are an amazing couple that I have gotten to know fairly well over the past few months since meeting with them a number of times to discuss their wedding plans and to also do their engagement shoot. We quickly found out that we shared common interest in the environment and sustainable building – how cool!

The wedding ceremony and reception were both held at the Tralee, which is a great outdoor venue located just outside of Orangeville. It was a picture perfect setting for a fall wedding with tall trees, autumn colours, a reflecting pond and horse drawn a carriage ride to the ceremony. It definitely set the tone for what turned out to be a spectacularly simple wedding in the country.

It was a great evening Richard & Michelle – and have fun renovating your beautiful sustainable home!

Megan & Mike – The Wedding – St.Lawrence Hall, Toronto.

I had another wonderful weekend in Toronto as I photographed Megan and Mikes wedding at the historically elegant St.Lawrence Hall. The opulent gas lamp chandeliers and wall sconces (yes – no electric bulbs) gave off a feeling of warmth which was succeeded by that of the intimate wedding ceremony in the main hall. One thing that set this wedding apart from the many others that I have attended this year was the rich music that resonated through every aspect of the day, from the full choir singing during the reception, to the ensemble playing between courses and speeches.

It was such a beautiful and fun day – I had a hard time leaving!
Thanks for including me as a part of your day Megan & Mike!

BIG NEWS – The New Gallery!!!

So this really IS big news. After two months of tearing down walls, putting up walls, building in, painting, hanging and cleaning (lots of cleaning) the Union Gallery is now open for business! I searched high and low for a gallery space that would be both convenient to get to for those in the city, as well as those coming from outside the GTA and believe I found the perfect spot. Located right in the heart of Toronto within the popular entertainment district, it’s easily accessible from major highways and has plenty of available parking just steps away from the door. It’s also a 5 min walk from the Spadina subway line and only steps from TTC.

The space is in true gallery format, with hung canvas prints and plenty of viewing space. As a bonus, there is also a comfy lounge / meeting area and a bar! My only problem now, will be getting people out the door at the end of meetings :)

And now, like a proud father, I get to show off some photos of the space.

Richard loves Michelle – Engagement Shoot – Toronto Island

Another beautiful weekend with another awesome couple!
We decided that the Toronto Islands would be a great afternoon spot for some photos and planned to head over to Ward Island where there are some cute houses and paths…. except we somehow ended up on the wrong ferry and were dropped off on the exact opposite side of the island chain. doh!
But since it was 20 degrees out with sand beaches and lake views, you can only imagine that there was no hurry to head back to the office anyways.

Thanks for the great day at the beach Michelle & Richard!
The photos turned out beautiful!

*UPDATE* We photographed Michelle and Richards beautiful country wedding in October at the Tralee. Take a look at the Wedding Photos!

Enjoy.

Dominique & Bojan – The Wedding – Mississauga

I realize that I am getting a little behind on the blogging as Dominique and Bojan’s beautiful wedding is now almost a month past! But don’t worry, my lack of blogging is not because I’m being lazy. It’s because I have been busy as ever and have a BIG (read VERY BIG) project that is *almost* complete. Just a few more blog posts to go and I will get to that news!

Now back on topic!
I once again had the opportunity to work with a fantastic couple this past month at their dynamic and fun wedding. I have been building up a great relationship with Dominique and Bojan since I first had the pleasure of photographing their engagement earlier on in the summer. I think that it’s great when I can consider my clients to be friends first and fore most. The increased level of comfort translates to lower stress levels and photos that look more natural and less contrived.

Their wedding ceremony took place at the beautiful Islington United Church – the very same church that Dominique’s parents were united in 26 years prior. How cool! One unique aspect of the ceremony (well, the after-ceremony) was the releasing of monarch butterflies into the air at the front entrance of the church. See below!

Thanks for having myself and Simon photograph your big day! Love you guys!
