I love night shoots!
If you ask almost any photographer what the best time to shoot is, they will likely speak of the “Golden Hour” and the soft warm light associated with the magical, near twilight, time of day. But if you ask me, the best time to shoot is when the sun goes down and the city lights take over with an orchestra of color. Greens, blues, yellows… It’s a great time to play with the ambient light temperatures and create dynamic imagery.
For this winter shoot, Johan, Lisa and myself explored the city, looking for great light – while trying to stay warm!
When a photo sits on my desktop for awhile, it generally means It’s one of my top picks and that I look to it for inspiration. This photo of Sarah & Naomi has been proudly displayed on it for months! I just love the figure, expression and simplicity that this silhouette brings out.
I can’t wait to post more from this session, plus some of the wedding images as well!
Time to kick it up!
Jon & Steph are a rockin’, vibrant and fun couple! We had a great time roaming the streets of Toronto, hunting down fun locations that would reflect their energy. I think that this may be one of my most colorful sets yet!
