Sarah & Naomi ~ Wedding Slideshow

When Sarah and Naomi first sat down in my studio to talk about their wedding plans, the first thought that ran through my head was “Wow, this is going to be a REALLY cool alternative wedding!”.

Full black on black attire, check.
Guys wearing kilts, check.
Awesome hairpieces, check.
Gothic influence, check.
Super awesome couple in love, check.

I decided to process this entire slide show in black and white as I felt it really suited both the couple and tonality of the images captured on their beautiful day.

Dave & Charlotte – Lifestyle Engagement Photography

I have known Dave & Charlotte for years and have always admired their own photographic work, so when they asked if I would like to photograph an engagement set of them, it was an opportunity that I just couldn’t turn down. We decided to take full advantage of the gray fall skies by visiting a few edgy locations which really up the moody tone of the shoot.  I really love the gritty nature of these final edits!

Ian Loves Elisabeth – Engagement Photography

Elisabeth and Ian are yet another one of my fantastic 2009 wedding couples whom I have the pleasure of getting to know over the past number of months. All of my wedding commissions include an engagement (or fun shoot) which is not only a great opportunity to get some more casual photos taken, but also aids in elevating the comfort levels when it comes to having your photo taken! As you can see, the results are fabulous!

We ended up heading out to do a little street shooting up in the Yorkville area of Toronto. It’s a fantastic area that has a little bit of everything, including boutique shops, open air art installations, some fun architecture and plenty of quieter areas that yield great photographic opportunities!

I am looking forward to the wedding!

Jenn & Jeff – The Wedding – The Berkeley Church

It is no secret that much of my love for wedding photography stems from the fact that I get to work with amazing couples on a regular basis. Jen and Jeff are one of those amazing couples, that I have had the pleasure of getting to know over the past number of months. If you go back a few posts, you will see the cool engagement photos we did, including one of my all-time favorites, which was taken in a local theater! Needless to say, I have been looking forward to their wedding day for some time now.

The day started (and ended off) at the Berkeley Church, which is one of my favorite eclectic venues in the city. This was the second time that I have photographed at the Berkeley Church and it never ceases to disappoint, with it’s myriad of photogenic nooks to explore. Mix that with a “do anything” couple, plus plenty of time to be creative and the results are outstanding!

The wedding itself was one to remember as well, from hilarious speeches (a lot of them) to the amazing band that rocked it out all night long (the Black Eyed Peas cover was great!) and kept the dance floor packed!
