When my good friend Dave (of Dave & Charlotte Photographers – link) asked if I could help him out by shooting portraits and the wedding reception of a cool Indian couple at one of Toronto’s landmark wedding venues, I really couldn’t help but say “yes!”.  Aneesh & Dave were wonderful to work with – very laid back and easy to direct, which made capturing great photos that much easier. Just a wonderful day for all!

Last nights shoot was made of magic.

I first photographed Lisa & Johan in the middle of the winter last year. They loved their photos sooooo much, that they requested to do another shoot in the summer, so that they could have a variety of imagery to  cherish and share.

As you can tell, I am very happy with the photos!

We had a great time wandering the Toronto waterfront and used the time we had to capture some lively photos and to get to know each other.

The commercial shoots that I do range from simple head shots to fully spec’d advertising campaigns and everything in-between. One day I may be in the studio with an art director, makeup, wardrobe and multiple assistants, while other days I may be on my own to produce an environmental portrait of a CEO – in 5 minuites or less.

It’s the diversity that I love.

The photo below was from a recent studio shoot for CHFI Radio’s “Big Bag of Cash” promotion. Co-hosts, Mike & Erin were just awesome to work with and kept the crew laughing for the entire time!

I hope that all of you had an absolutely fantastic Holiday Season and New Year! For many, the start of 2011 means keeping with up with New Years resolutions, eating leftover turkey and getting back to into the groove at work (holidays never seem long enough!). For myself, it meant transitioning to an entirely new wedding & portrait studio brand, moving  from “Union Photography” to “Thorpe”. I hope that you like it and are as excited as I am!

While this may be a big change for my brand, everything will remain the same when it comes to my business. I will continue to deliver a highly personal experience, beautiful images, amazing finished products and shall continue to capture visually stunning imagery for my clients.

You may also notice that I love shooting well into the evening. By doing so, I am able to capture a range of playful and sexy imagery, spanning different lighting conditions and scenes. It really gives my couples a lot of variety in their images and goes well beyond the realms of a typical engagement session.

I am not able to post everything from the session right now (It’s kinda crazy here at the studio this week) so I will leave you with these awesome teasers. Be sure to come back for the main course later on! Please comment!
